Associate Spotlight - Lisa Gann

Lisa Gann, Administrator

Lisa Gann is a wonderful example of Elmcroft Senior Living’s commitment to promoting from within. At just 15 years old, she started her career with Elmcroft working in dietary. The community was located in her neighborhood and she could walk to work.

Over the last twenty years, Lisa has worked her way up while she worked her way through school. She has served as an Admissions Coordinator, a Community Liaison, an Assistant Administrator and now an Administrator at Rockford Manor. Lisa will tell you she is “very grateful” for the opportunity to do what she loves.

Support and Appreciation

Lisa credits her professional growth to feeling appreciated and supported by the company. She knows Elmcroft’s leadership team is invested in her success and believes they provide her with the tools she needs to meet and exceed her goals.

Having worked her way up from the dietary department, Lisa has a depth of knowledge about senior living few others do. She knows how to help a family who is struggling when their loved one first moves to a community on a long-term basis. Lisa also understands how to offer support to an older adult who is anxious about beginning a short-term rehabilitation stay.

A Day in the Life

If you ask Lisa to describe a typical day in the life of an Administrator, she will begin with a chuckle. “No two days are alike,” says Lisa. You can tell she likes it that way. Part of her time is spent with staff and in meetings, other time is spent with residents and their families.

Staff and residents become one another’s families and that is one of the best parts of her job. So is hearing the journey each resident took before moving to Elmcroft. Lisa will tell you the “Client Profiles” each new resident and their family complete allow her and the team an opportunity to get to know more about the resident and what their life has been like. Lisa also says she has learned a lot from working with seniors over the last two decades, and continues to learn more each day.

After 20 years, some might consider it time for a change. Not Lisa. She believes Elmcroft is “the best.” She enjoys working for a company that is committed to caring for both employees and residents. Like her colleagues, she also thinks Elmcroft is progressive and always ahead of the curve in exploring and adopting new programs, services and technologies. Having those tools at her disposal gives her the ability to lead her team with confidence.
