At Elmcroft, we know that stories are not only a recollection of someone’s past, but an essential part of their future. That’s why we work to keep treasured memories alive through the telling and retelling of important life stories. The Elmcroft archive is an important part of this care. It is a labor of love undertaken by our staff and our residents to preserve memories, stories, advice, wisdom, wit and humor on video, which family members can watch online whenever they like.
Designed to create a better quality of life for our memory care residents, Heartland Village offers a specialized program incorporating each individual’s life history, current abilities and interests to provide a stimulating and supportive environment for each resident.
At Elmcroft, we understand it takes special care when dealing with Alzheimer’s or other dementias. That’s why our staff undergoes the Best Friends® specialized training to better understand the personal care each of our Heartland Village residents deserves. Our Best Friends® program allows us to care for our residents as we would a beloved family member or close friend. Doing more than assisting residents, we offer them a hand to hold, and above all, someone to listen.
