About Our Community
Elmcroft of Xenia is located in the “City of Hospitality,” and our senior living community provides that high level of hospitality through numerous amenities and activities and exceptional care for all residents, including those with Alzheimer’s or dementia. Xenia has a rural, small-town feel yet offers easy access to the culture, attractions, shopping, and parks of Dayton, Cincinnati and Columbus.

Elmcroft’s Signature Programs are life enrichment programs designed to celebrate our residents and their stories, while meeting their daily health and wellness needs. Learn more about our Signature Programs below.
Vitality Club
Life is meant to be lived. Our Vitality Club program celebrates our residents’ unique personalities while keeping health and wellness top of mind. As part of our program, we develop an individualized wellness profile and program of daily activities for each resident. Plus, we work to expand our residents’ horizons with our Port of Call series. Each month, we provide cultural activities that include savory culinary delights from near and far.
Walking Tall
We want our residents to feel comfortable and safe as they take part in our community. As part of our Walking Tall program, we work with each resident to help them better understand their own risk for falling and provide training and tools to help them move about safely.
Second Wind Dreams
It’s never too late for our residents to realize their hopes and dreams. From reuniting with loved ones, reaching a goal like performing in a ballet, visiting a favorite spot from years gone by, or having a longed-for adventure like a hot-air balloon ride, our Second Wind Dreams® program makes our residents’ dreams come true.
Chronicles
Elmcroft’s Chronicles is a memory care program for residents with memory loss that features specially trained caregivers and a secure environment. A highlight of our program is our specialized approach to care built around each individual’s life history, cultural heritage, current abilities and interests. By getting to know our memory-impaired residents this way, we can effectively provide support and encouragement that meets their needs for meaning, purpose and independence.
Dining at Elmcroft of Xenia
Choice is part of the senior living lifestyle at Elmcroft. Our menus are inspired by our residents’ preferences, special diet and personal care needs. We understand their preferences because we meet with residents regularly to learn what they like and to listen to their suggestions about menus. Plenty of choices are offered at each meal, from original culinary creations to traditional dishes. Plus, we mix it up regularly with special theme parties and chef challenges to keep the mealtime experience fresh, new and exciting.
Restaurant-Style Dining
Restaurant-style dining means there are plenty of menu choices offered at each meal, from comfort food and home-style offerings to gourmet fare. And our dishes feature plenty of fresh and locally grown ingredients – just like a fine restaurant.
Residents appreciate our well-appointed restaurant-style dining room where attentive table service makes meals a social occasion. But we also do casual dining events too, like outdoor picnics and barbecues, as well as special meal events like birthday parties and holiday celebrations.
Port of Call
Each month our residents travel to an exciting, often exotic, location without leaving home.
Our Port of Call series brings the sights, sounds and tastes of different locales right to Elmcroft. During Port of Call events, the menu features tasty delights from the represented region. It’s during these special programs that we often find conversation turns to travel experiences near and far.
Farm to Table
Many of our residents grew or raised their own food or bought it from local farmers. The food they put on their tables was fresh, local and literally farm to table.
Elmcroft’s Farm to Table program features foods from local farms and growers. That means the food we serve includes fresh seasonal ingredients that contain higher amounts of nutrients like antioxidants. We’re proud that this program also helps support our local communities of producers.

My mother has lived at Elmcroft of Xenia for two years. Mom's independence skills have decreased over the years. The staff is aware of mom's changes and assists her as needed. The staff is professional and concerned about the residents. Mom is cared for and loved at this facility.
Elmcroft of Xenia has far exceeded my family's expectations with regard to caring for my father. Every staff member is caring and responsive in meeting every need of my father. The nursing staff, physical therapists, housekeeping, receptionists, and the entire support staff are friendly, professional and provide top notch service to all residents. There are many activities that engage residents, including family nights, bingo, live music, physical therapy, group games, and regular hymn singing and church services. Another important thing in which Elmcroft excels is the food. The food preparers are always getting the residents' input for food preferences. 5 Stars!
