At Elmcroft Senior Living, we’re committed to helping residents stay healthy. We coordinate with outside third-party healthcare providers of your choice – from primary care physicians and dentists, to podiatrists, orthopedists, cardiologists and pulmonologists – whenever needed. And, we provide residents transportation to and from appointments for their convenience and your peace of mind. Some of our communities have nurses on staff or on call, and local physicians make visits our communities to see residents as needed. Other care services available to Elmcroft residents vary by community and may include:
Dental Health
At some of our communities, visiting dentists help residents maintain good oral health with on-site cleanings and examinations.
Home Healthcare Coordination
For seniors residents facing illness or a long recovery from injuries or medical procedures, many Elmcroft communities can coordinate home health services designed to help them heal, improve their quality of life and regain as much independence as possible.
Hospice Coordination
We believe end-of-life care should be focused on keeping residents as comfortable and peaceful as possible. That’s why we coordinate professional, compassionate hospice care for our residents in the familiar comfort of their home at Elmcroft. Our hospice coordination services support residents’ and their families’ physical, emotional and spiritual needs during this difficult time.
Medication Management and Diabetes Support
At most Elmcroft communities, staff have experience helping residents take prescribed medications at the right time and dosage each day, and many of our team members are trained to administer medications, including injections, when necessary. For residents with diabetes, Elmcroft staff can help monitor and manage blood sugar levels, insulin doses, medications and dietary needs.
Memory Care
Many of our communities provide a comfortable, safe and nurturing home where those with memory problems – including those with Alzheimer’s and dementia – are cared for, loved and encouraged to live as safely and independently as possible. Memory care communities are designed to be extra secure, and staff are trained to spot and address disorientation, wandering or potentially harmful behaviors, as well as remind residents to take their medications.
On-Site Rehabilitation and Therapy Services
Some Elmcroft communities coordinate with physical, occupational and speech therapists to bring services on-site, making care more convenient for residents. Other communities offer their own on-site rehabilitation departments where residents can access these services as needed.
Podiatry
Visiting podiatrists help residents keep their feet healthy right on location at some Elmcroft communities. These specialists can make sure injuries and infections are cared for promptly, provide special care for diabetic foot conditions, prevent painful conditions like ingrown toenails and offer advice about supportive or orthopedic footwear.
